THE GIFT OF THE DISCERNING OF SPIRITS

Some say it's the "Gift of Discerment." But the Bible calls it, the"Gift of Discerning of Spirits."

To discern literally means to perceive or distinguish the difference between right and wrong (2 Samuel 4:17).

So the Gift of the Discerning of Spirits is the supernatural impartation of the Holy Ghost that enables the recipient to perceive or distinguish the difference between a "good" spirit and a "bad" spirit.

Please understand that the Bible helps your discernimg of spirits because you need to know what spirit you are dealing with at any given point in time. Why? Because there are four kinds of spirit as revealed in the Bible:

1. GOD: He is a Spirit (John 4:24). To worship Him you must be IN spirit and in truth. This why it is important to Become a believer in Christ. It is through the process of becoming a Believer (salvation), that your spirit is made alive, receptive, and responsive to God's Spirit to worship Him.

2. HOLY ANGELS: They are ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14). They are created and sent by

God to minister FOR those who are heirs of salvation (Believers). They are God's messengers, worshipers and warriors.

3. HUMAN SPIRITS: All human beings have a spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23). The unbeliever's spirit is dead to God. But the Believer 's spirit is alive and responsive to God. The Believer's spirit is enabled by God's Spirit to worship God because God's Spirit indwells [lives inside]them (2 Corinthians 6:16).

4. DEVILS: Fallen angels who rebelled against God in Heaven (Revelation 12:7) and were cast down to earth and some placed in everlasting chains (Jude 1:6) bound pending the final judgment and punishment of God. They are sometimes called, "demons." They were disembodied so to have a presence in the earth realm, they must usurp a flesh body or physical being whether animal or human because they have no body). This usurping of bodies is known as oppression and possession, being controlled or inhabited by devils. The only way to rid them is to cast them out (Matthew 10:8) in Jesus' Name.

As a Believer, you must be endowed with the Gift of Discerning of Spirits to differentiate between evil and bad spirits. False prophets, false apostles, and false teachers are led by their own flesh or devils, rather than God. Every Believer must know the difference or be deceived down a wrong path. The Gift of the Discerning of Spirits reveals whether it is God, a holy angel, a human being, or a devil in operation.

Let they who have ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying.
